This June and July, get amongst the ultimate road trip experience on ‘The Outback Trail’. It really is the ultimate combo of music festival meets road trip. Not only will you be exploring some of Queensland’s most spectacular places you will also be enjoying and rocking out to some of Australia’s most iconic musicians. With five main music events plus countless attractions along the way, it’s never been a better time to explore outback Queensland!

Events

Opera at Jimbour
25 - 27 June

Enjoy a glorious weekend in Jimbour at an intimate opera and chamber music performance on the Western Downs. This year, they will be opening the doors to the famed estate and debuting a new exciting format with Opera Queensland stars and Queensland’s best chamber musicians.

Music for Stargazing
29 - 30 June

Join Kate Miller-Heidke, William Barton, and an all-star lineup in Charleville. Enjoy the music while celebrating the beauty of the open outback sky at the Charleville Cosmos Centre. This event is inspired by the landscape, stargazing, cosmology, and cultural heritage.

Echoes in the Dust
1-2 July

Experience mind-bending musical virtuosity and astonishing visual theatre over two evenings in Quilpie. Watch as two of Queensland’s most inventive contemporary performance companies - Topology and Dead Puppet Society - bring Baldy Top to life through imaginative visual theatre and enthralling soundscapes.

Oasis Afternoons
3-4 July

Kick back and unwind with some of Queensland’s most exciting acts for two afternoons of acoustic goodness in the heart of Channel Country - Windorah. Featuring the genre-defying sounds of Karl S. Williams, Emily Wurramara, and Hussy Hicks, Oasis Afternoons is the perfect place to unwind before your next stop, the Big Red Bash.

Big Red Bash
6-8 July

The world’s most remote music festival is returning in 2021 with arguably its biggest iconic Aussie lineup yet! Aussie icons Paul Kelly, Ian Moss, Shannon Noll, Wendy Mathews, and plenty more will rock the stage. The Big Red Bash is officially sold out, however, there are a bunch of tickets still available through the resale facility. Head there now to book yours!
